Rudolf Lange (politician, 1879)

Rudolf Lange (born December 31, 1879 in Wandsbek ; † December 1, 1945 there ) was a German politician ( DNVP ).

Live and act

After attending secondary school in Wandsbek, Lange learned the painting trade from 1894 to 1898. From 1898 to 1900 he was a member of Field Artillery Regiments No. 24 and 60 . He then worked as a painter's assistant in various cities until he became self-employed in the spring of 1911. From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War with the Reserve Field Artillery Regiment No. 57 , in which he fought on the western and eastern fronts. In 1915 he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class.

After the war, Lange returned to Wandsbek as a master painter. From 1918, Lange was politically active in the German National People's Party: From 1918 to 1933 he was a member of the board of the Schleswig-Holstein State Association. He held his first political office from autumn 1924 to 1933 as a city councilor in Wandsbek. He also became chairman of the district handicrafts association in Wandsbek.

On April 7, 1933, at the suggestion of his party, Lange entered the last Reichstag of the Weimar Republic or the first Reichstag during the time of National Socialism in the replacement procedure for the Reichstag member Ernst Oberfohren , in which he held constituency 13 (Schleswig-Holstein ) represented.
