Rudolf Langthaler

Rudolf Langthaler (born June 22, 1953 in Amstetten , Lower Austria) was a professor at the Institute for Christian Philosophy at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna .

Life

Langthaler studied philosophy , catholic theology and German at the University of Vienna with the degrees Mag. Phil. (1976), Dr. phil. (1978) and Mag. Theol. (1983). From 1980 to 1984 he was a university assistant at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna . From 1984 to 1991 he taught at the Philosophical-Theological University of the Diocese of St. Pölten . In 1988 he completed his habilitation in the Philosophy Department at the Faculty of Basic and Integrative Science at the University of Vienna.

From 1991 to 1999, Langthaler was professor for philosophy at the Catholic Private University in Linz . and has been Full Professor of Christian Philosophy at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna since October 1, 1999 (Head of the Institute until September 2016; Deputy Head of the Institute from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2018). Rudolf Langthaler has been retired since October 1st, 2018.
