Rudolf Machenschalk

Rudolf Machenschalk (born November 8, 1928 in Reutte in Tyrol ; † September 20, 2005 in Igls near Innsbruck) was an Austrian manager and long-time head of Plansee AG .

Life

Machenschalk studied technical chemistry at the Vienna University of Technology from 1947 to 1953 and did his doctorate at the Graz University of Technology . He worked his way up from a vacation intern at Planseewerke in Reutte to becoming CEO .

Rudolf Machenschalk built a medium-sized Tyrolean company into a global industrial group with 52 companies worldwide. In 1996 he gave up the chairmanship of the board and took over the chairmanship of the supervisory board . He was also represented on numerous supervisory boards, such as at ÖIAG , voestalpine AG , the Seibersdorf research center, the German VIAG and Tilak.

Machenschalk has published more than 50 publications and patents in his field of expertise, powder metallurgy . On November 19, 2003, he was awarded the Great Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria and was an honorary citizen of his home town of Reutte.

Rudolf Machenschalk died on September 20, 2005 after a long and serious illness.
