Rudolf Metter

Rudolf Metter (born August 26, 1903 in Botenwald , Moravia ; † August 1, 1972 in Würzburg ) was a German SPD politician . From 1957 to 1965 he was a member of the Bundestag .

Life and work

After attending the Roman Catholic community school, Metter completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith. From 1922 to 1924 he was a soldier, after which he worked as a locksmith in Botenwald until the outbreak of World War II , in which he was a soldier again . In 1946 he was expelled from Czechoslovakia and settled as a displaced person in Lower Franconia , where he again worked as a locksmith in Ebern . From 1948 he was a member of the works council at his place of work, and became chairman in 1949.

Metter was married and had two children. According to him, which is the Rudolf Metter street named in boars.

Political party

Metter joined the SPD after the Second World War. In 1952 he was elected district chairman in the Ebern district and deputy chairman of the Bamberg sub-district .

MP

Metter had been a city councilor in Ebern and a member of the district council in the district of Ebern since 1952. From 1957 to 1965 he was a member of the German Bundestag .
