Rudolf Otto von Ottenfeld

Rudolf Otto Ritter von Ottenfeld (born July 21, 1856 in Verona , † July 26, 1913 in Prague ) was a German battle and oriental painter .

Life

Ottenfeld was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Professors Carl Wurzinger and KL Müller. Ottenfeld stayed in Munich (1883–1893) and Vienna (1893–1900), the painter spent the last thirteen years of his life as a professor at the Prague Academy . In 1896 he received a small gold medal at the International Art Exhibition in Berlin .

He was very interested in military motifs, so several battle paintings as well as uniform pictures - including several historical depictions - have been preserved.
