Rudolf Paal (born December 1 . Jul / 13. December  1897 . Greg in Jäneda , Governorate of Estonia ; † 24. October 1934 ) was an Estonian football - and Bandyspieler . In 1920 Paal played with the Estonian national soccer team in the first international match of the Republic of Estonia against a selection from Finland . With him at his side played his two years older brother Heinrich Paal , who is considered the best Estonian football player before the Second World War.

Career

Rudolf Paal was born in Jäneda in 1897 as the son of Michael Paal and his wife Leena . He had a brother and two sisters. Rudolf began in 1920 in Tallinn with the Bandyspielen . In 1920 and 1921 he and his team were Estonian champions. From 1921 Rudolf Paal also played for two years as a goalkeeper at SK Tallinna Sport . Here he was also able to celebrate two championship titles. For the Estonian national team Paal came in 1920 to an international match against Finland . It was Estonia 's first international match before the football association was founded a year later.

Rudolf Paal died for unknown reasons at the age of 36. He was buried in the Rahumäe cemetery in Tallinn.
