Rudolf Postl

Rudolf Postl (born April 15, 1862 in Windischgarsten , † December 9, 1939 in Linz ) was an Austrian pharmacist and Christian social politician . He was the last mayor of Ebelsberg .

Life

After graduating from the Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster , Rudolf Postl studied pharmacy at the University of Innsbruck . From 1896 he was a pharmacist in Ebelsberg . He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Upper Austria (Upper Austria) and co-chair of the pharmacists' committee and councilor in Ebelsberg.

From 1906 to 1919 and from 1934 to 1938 Postl was mayor of Ebelsberg, from 1909 to 1915 Upper Austria member of the state parliament and from 1918 to 1919 a member of the provisional state assembly.

Postl was deposed as the last Ebelsberg mayor by the National Socialists in 1938 and the market town of Ebelsberg was incorporated into Linz on November 1, 1938.

His grave is at the Ebelsberg cemetery . Postlstrasse in Linz is named after him.
