Rudolf Röser

Rudolf Röser (born March 2, 1920 in Bensheim ; † March 20, 2013 in Karlsruhe ) was a German publisher .

Life

Rudolf Röser studied art history and architecture in Heidelberg , interrupted by the Second World War. After serving as a soldier and returning from captivity, he initially worked as a freelance journalist for the Darmstädter Echo .

In 1965 he founded the "Fernsprechbuchverlag Rudolf Röser" in Karlsruhe, which developed into one of the telephone book publishers in Germany. The company looks after over 86 telecommunications directories that appear in Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. He expanded the company with numerous subsidiaries. In 1986 he retired from the company; In 1996, a family company was founded, Rudolf Röser AG with Rudolf Röser AG, Röser Media GmbH & Co KG, Röser Verlag International GmbH & Co KG, Röser Presse GmbH, Verlag Röser & Partner GmbH and SingLiesel GmbH. Until 2001 he was chairman of the supervisory board.

In 1984 he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Cardinal de Fürstenberg and invested in the Würzburg Cathedral on May 19, 1984 by Governor Hermann Josef Abs and Franz Hengsbach , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy .

Röser had been married to Ortrud Bodemann since 1956; there are four children from the marriage.
