Rudolf Günter Rampf (born November 30, 1944 in Kasten ) is a German entrepreneur .

Career

The chemical engineer and certified technical business economist founded the company RAMPF Kunststoffsysteme GmbH in Grafenberg ( Reutlingen district ) in 1980 , from which the Rampf Group emerged, which manufactures reaction resins and machine systems , among other things . In 2011, Rampf retired from the operational management of the group of companies he founded and passed it on to his sons Michael and Matthias.

He is married and has two children.

Rampf is considered to be the inventor of the model building board made of polyurethane , which fundamentally modernized model and tool making in the early 1980s. In the following years, the plastic model building board almost completely replaced molded wood in model and mold making.

Political and social engagement

Rudolf Rampf has been a member of Grafenberg's municipal council since 1988. From 1994 to 2014 he was Deputy Mayor of Grafenberg. At the end of the 1980s, Rudolf Rampf founded the Grafenberg Trade and Industry Association, and has been its first chairman ever since.

The Rudolf Rampf Foundation under civil law for the promotion of youth in Grafenberg was founded in 2001 and serves in the non-profit sense of youth care . In particular, the musical training of young people in music associations and youth sports in sports associations are promoted. The income from the foundation's capital (100,000 euros) goes into youth work by local associations, open youth work in the community and into projects for young people. As of December 31, 2018, the basic assets amounted to 278,090 euros. Since it was founded, the foundation has distributed around 92,835 euros.

Since 2000 Rampf has been a member of the Rotary Club Nürtingen-Kirchheim, whose presidency he held in the Rotarian year 2013/14.

Awards

Rampf has been the recipient of the Baden-Württemberg Business Medal since 2008 . After 30 years in the Grafenberg municipal council, he was awarded the Badge of Honor of the Baden-Württemberg Municipal Council in 2019 . In 2017 Rampf received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services to the common good and his voluntary work .
