Rudolf Schmidt (born November 11, 1904 in Berlin , † March 9, 1969 in Bonn ) was a German administrative lawyer , district administrator and ministerial official .

Life

Schmidt holds a degree in law and became a doctor of law doctorate . He entered the Prussian administrative service and worked as an official in the Reich Ministry of the Interior , most recently as a councilor. In 1937 he became provisional district administrator of the Mansfeld mountain district in the administrative district of Merseburg in the Prussian province of Saxony after the transfer of Paul Weg . In 1938, after Weges completely resigned, he finally took over this office, which he held until the end of the war in 1945.

After the Second World War , Schmidt continued his career in administration. In the 1950s he was Head of Department VII, Civil Protection in the Federal Ministry of the Interior as Ministerialrat . Among other things, he wrote comments on the Land Procurement Act and the Federal Services Act. He was president of the Federal Office for Civilian Protection, established in 1958 and headquartered in Bad Godesberg , until his death; His successor was the Vice President of the Federal Office, Paul Wilhelm Kolb .
