Rudolf Sellheim
Rudolf Sellheim (born January 15, 1928 in Halle (Saale) ; † March 9, 2013 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German orientalist .
From 1956 to 1995 he was Professor of Oriental Studies and Director (1958–1993) of the Oriental Seminary at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . Since 1994 he has been a corresponding member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences . He was a full member of the German Archaeological Institute and from 1968 to 2003 President of the International Society for Oriental Research , Istanbul .
