Rudolf Staudinger

Rudolf Staudinger (born March 4, 1923 in Schwanenstadt ; † April 7, 1995 in Wels ) was an Austrian entrepreneur and politician ( ÖVP ).

After graduating from commercial school , Staudinger first worked as an office worker (1939–1942), and from 1945 onward as an independent grocery wholesaler in Schwanenstadt. From 1960 he was a managing partner of the food wholesaler A & O Handelszentrum Oberösterreich GmbH , then commercial director of the SPAR branch in Marchtrenk . He was awarded the title of Commercial Councilor.

His political career began in 1955 as a member of the Schwanenstadt municipal council . From 1959 to 1995 he was mayor of the city. From 1945 he was a member of the Federal Trade Committee of the Austrian Economic Association , from 1975 district party chairman of the ÖVP Vöcklabruck . From 1960 he held various functions in the Chamber of Commerce , and from 1964 he was chamber councilor for Upper Austria . In 1971 he became Vice President of the Austrian Association of Municipalities , and in 1972 he was finally chairman of the Federal Trade Committee of the Austrian Economic Association.

From 1962 to 1990 he was a member of the National Council for a total of nine legislative periods (IX.-XVII.).
