Rudolf von Brandt

Rudolf Maria Ignaz von Brandt (born June 20, 1835 in Tannenberg , Osterode district in East Prussia , † August 11, 1909 in Potsdam ) was a German lawyer and governor of the provincial administration in the province of East Prussia (1896-1909). He held the post of district administrator in the district of Osterode i.Pr. from 1862 to 1887 and was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1867 to 1872 . From 1887 Brandt served as Police President of Königsberg i.Pr. until 1896. In 1901 he built the Jungingenstein on his estate . Subsequently he was governor of the provincial administration of East Prussia until his death in 1909. In this capacity, he was also chairman of the East Prussian Invalidity and Old Age Insurance Institution.
