Rudolf von Franz

Rudolf Freiherr von Franz (born January 28, 1842 in Vienna ; † March 20, 1909 there ) was an Austrian journalist and lawyer .

biography

Rudolf Franz was a son of the Evangelical Reformed superintendent Gottfried Franz . He studied law at the University of Vienna and was able to do so successfully in 1868 with a doctorate as “Dr. iur. ”. As early as 1865 he was employed by the Lower Austrian Financial Procuratorate.

In 1870 Franz moved to the administration of the Ministry of Culture and Education and held this office until 1884. In that year he was elected President of the Evangelical Upper Church Council and as such he was instrumental in the development of the common church constitution of both evangelical churches .

In 1887 he was appointed a member of the manor house and two years later he was promoted to head of section . In 1903 he was given the title of Privy Councilor , and in 1909 he was raised to the nobility as a baron . Seven weeks after his 67th birthday, Franz died on March 20, 1909 in Vienna, where he found his final resting place.
