Rudolph Eduard Christmann

Rudolph Eduard Christmann (born February 16, 1814 in Dürkheim , † October 20, 1867 in Munich ) was a German winery owner and politician.

Life

Christmann studied 1832-1836 jurisprudence at the University of Würzburg and the University of Heidelberg and then took over his parents' estate in Durkheim.

In 1843 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian Estates Assembly, where he later belonged to the left . As part of the March Revolution in 1848, he took part in the Heidelberg assembly and the pre-parliament .

From May 19, 1848 until the end of the rump parliament on June 18, 1849, Christmann represented the 8th Palatinate constituency ( Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) in the Frankfurt National Assembly . There he belonged to the radical faction Deutscher Hof . After the suppression of the revolution, Christmann fled briefly to Alsace . In 1863 he was re-elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian Estates Assembly, where he again belonged to the left. He died in 1867 during a session of parliament.
