Rudy Pieter Verhoeff (born June 24, 1989 in Calgary ) is a Canadian volleyball player .
Career
Verhoeff studied religious studies at Trinity Western University from 2007 to 2012 and played on the university team Spartans. In 2009, the middle blocker took part in the World Cup with the Canadian Juniors. In 2013 he reached the final of the NORCECA championship and fifth place in the world league with the Canadian national team . In the same year he signed his first professional contract with the French club Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 . In 2014 Verhoeff moved to GFCO Ajaccio . At the 2014 World Cup , he finished seventh with Canada. He also played in the world league again in 2014 and 2015 . In 2015, the middle blocker was signed by the German Bundesliga club SWD Powervolleys Düren . In the 2015/16 season he reached the quarter-finals of the Bundesliga playoffs ; The Dürener also reached the quarter-finals in the CEV Cup . Bann took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with the Canadian national team. The Canadians reached the quarterfinals in second place, where they were eliminated by Russia . Verhoeff also played for the SWD Powervolleys in the 2016/17 season; However, as he did recently in the national team, he moved from the center block to the position of the diagonal attacker.
