Rufino Rodríguez de la Torre Newton (* December 2, 1900 ; † unknown) was an Argentine sailor .
successes
Rufino Rodríguez de la Torre took part in the Olympic Games three times . In 1936 he completed the regatta in the Düsternbrook Olympic harbor in Kiel in the 8-meter class as the skipper of the Argentine boat Matrero II in seventh place. At the 1948 Olympic Games in London , he was a crew member in the 6-meter class of the Argentinian boat Djinn , skippered by Enrique Sieburger senior . Sieburger senior and his crew, which included Rodríguez de la Torre, Emilio Homps , Rodolfo Rivademar , Julio Sieburger and Enrique Sieburger junior , won with 5120 points , behind the US Olympic champions around skipper Herman Whiton and ahead of the Swedish one led by Tore Holm Boot the silver medal. In 1952 in Helsinki , Rodríguez de la Torre, again a crew member of the 6-meter boat Djinn under skipper Sieburger, finished fifth with 3393 points.
