Rukschyn ( Ukrainian Рукшин ; Russian Рукшин Rukschin , Romanian Rucșin ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Chernivtsi Oblast with about 3400 inhabitants (2004).
Rukschyn is the only village in the district council of the same name in the Khotyn district .
The village was first mentioned in historical documents, in particular on the map by Guillaume le Vasseur de Beauplan , in 1650. The first Rukschyn settlers were farmers who came from the area across the Dniester , from Galicia and Podolia .
The village is located in the valley of the Dniester on its 14 km long right tributary Potyn ( Потин ). The district center of Chotyn is 11 km east and the oblast capital Chernivtsi 55 km southwest of Rukschyn.
