The Ruovesi is a lake in the Finnish landscape of Pirkanmaa .
It lies in the catchment area of the Kokemypenjoki in the municipalities of Ruovesi and Mänttä-Vilppula . The lake covers an area of 66.08 km² and is at an altitude of 96.1 m. The maximum water depth is 46.55 m.
The lake is divided into several basins that merge into one another. In the east the drain of the Kuorevesi flows into the Ruovesi. From the north, the water of the Tarjanne reaches the Ruovesi via two outflow arms which surround the island of Salonsaari in the east and west. The Ruovesi is part of a lake system that flows over the Palovesi to the Näsijärvi . The municipality of the same name Ruovesi is located on the south-west bank.
