Rupert Wolfgruber senior

Rupert Wolfgruber (born December 30, 1913 in Göming ; † February 9, 1993 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer in Göming. From 1954 to 1964 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament and from 1963 to 1977 state councilor in the Salzburg state governments Lechner I to Lechner IV .

education and profession

Wolfgruber attended elementary school in Oberndorf near Salzburg and in Arnsdorf from 1920 to 1928 and then graduated from the Winklhof agricultural school in Oberalm between 1930 and 1932 , taking over his parents' farm in Göming as early as 1931. He ran the Langerhof until 1973.

Politics and functions

Before the Second World War, Rupert Wolfgruber was active as regional chairman of the “Agricultural Graduate Association” until 1938. After the end of the war he joined the Austrian People's Party and worked from 1954 to 1966 as district chairman of the Salzburg Farmers' Union in Flachgau . At the state level, he headed the farmers 'union in Salzburg from 1963 to 1979 as provincial chairman, after which he became vice-president of the Austrian farmers' union from 1970 to 1980. In local politics he was active from 1945 to 1954 as a member of the municipal council of Göming, and from 1945 he was local farmer chairman of Göming. Other functions he held from 1950 to 1960 were the chairman of the Salzburg-Umgebung District Chamber of Agriculture, from 1950 to 1964 Chamber Councilor and from 1960 to 1964 Vice-President of the Salzburg Chamber of Agriculture. Wolfgruber represented the Austrian People's Party from December 11, 1954 to June 29, 1964 in the Salzburg state parliament, to which he also belonged for a few days in 1969 and 1974. Furthermore, from April 3, 1963 to April 20, 1977, he was a member of the Salzburg state government as regional councilor.

Private

Rupert Wolfgruber is the father of the former regional councilor for agriculture Rupert Wolfgruber junior . He handed the farm over to his son in 1973.
