Ruski Tyschky ( Ukrainian Руські Тишки ; Russian Русские Тишки Russkije Tischki ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Oblast Kharkiv with about 1900 inhabitants (2004).
The village was founded in 1663 is the administrative center of a 75.81 square kilometer district municipality in Kharkiv Raion to which even the villages Tscherkaski Tyschky ( Черкаські Тишки ⊙ ) with about 1150 inhabitants, Petriwka ( Петрівка ⊙ ) with about 20 inhabitants and Ukrajinske ( Українське ⊙ ) with about 5 residents. Ruski Tyschky lies on the bank of the Kharkiv , a 71 km long tributary of the Lopan 25 km northeast of Kharkiv .
Personalities
The Ukrainian writer, teacher, linguist, ethnographer and politician Borys Hrinchenko was born in the village in 1863 .
