The Russki Bridge ( Russian Мост на остров Русский ) is a cable-stayed bridge that was opened to traffic in July 2012 and has the world's largest span at 1104 m . The multi-part road bridge with a total length of 3,100 m and four lanes spans the Eastern Bosphorus in the Russian city of Vladivostok and connects the city with the Russky Island . The structure was opened after four years of construction on the occasion of the Asia-Pacific economic summit that took place on the island from September 2 to 9, 2012 .

Between the prestressed concrete - ramp bridges disposed main bridge, m is a cable-stayed bridge having a length of 1885.53. The middle opening has a main span of 1104 m with a 21 m wide roadway girder with a steel box girder cross-section . The remaining bridge sections are made of prestressed concrete. The 320.9 m high pylons have the shape of an "A" in the transverse direction and are made of reinforced concrete . The stay cables are arranged in two levels with the fan system and are a maximum of 578 m long. The clearance for ships is 70 m.

Structural protection is complex. Due to extreme wind conditions, this includes 184 passive and forty adjustable hydraulic dampers to minimize vibrations on the long stay cables. The earthquake hazard required three hydraulic dampers at each end of the bridge in order to keep any pendulum movements of the bridge in the longitudinal direction small, and two carriageway crossings at the 23.5 m wide expansion joints . The structure is also supported on 24 movable and guided slide bearings with loads of up to 3400 tons.

At the same time, construction of the subsequent, over 2 km long Solotoi Bridge over the Golden Horn of Vladivostok, which opened on August 11, 2012, was ongoing.
