Ruth Eder (* 1947 in Stuttgart ) is a German-speaking writer and journalist .

Life

Ruth Eder has Romanian-German roots and spent her youth in Stuttgart until she graduated from high school. She then studied German and theater history in Munich and lived there with her first husband, a US pilot. In 1974 she completed her studies with a master's degree . During this time she also worked as an actress , author and assistant director for theater , film , newspapers and television.

After completing her studies and long stays in the USA, she worked as a trainee ( Münchner Merkur ) and editor at tz , Münchner Abendzeitung (AZ) and finally as chief editor at the Munich lifestyle magazine Ambiente . From the birth of her daughter and second marriage to a colleague in 1981, she started her own business as a freelance author, reporter and columnist for newspapers, magazines and online magazines (AZ, TZ, DIE ZEIT , Süddeutsche Zeitung , Cosmopolitan , ' Harper's Bazaar , www. womenweb.de ).

Since 1990 she has mainly been writing non-fiction , novels and short stories . She is divorced and lives near Munich.
