Extraction and presentation
Ruthenium (III) fluoride can be obtained by reacting ruthenium (V) fluoride with iodine at 250 ° C or with sulfur at> 200 ° C.

Ruthenium (III) fluoride is a dark brown solid that is practically insoluble in water. It has a crystal structure with the space group R 3 c (space group no. 167) . It forms octahedral fluorocomplexes.
