Ryan Bailie (born July 15, 1990 in Johannesburg ) is a triathlete from Australia .

Career

Ryan Bailie was born in South Africa.

In September 2009 he became triathlon world champion in the age group 18-19 at the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). He has been a professional athlete since 2011.

At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, he finished fifth and third place for Australia in the relay.

In July 2015 he was runner-up in Hamburg with the mixed team on the triathlon sprint distance (4 × 250 m swimming, 6.6 km cycling and 1.6 km running).

As part of the 2016 World Championship racing series, he finished sixth in the ninth and final race ( Grand Final ) in Mexico in September, as in the previous year, and was sixth in the annual ranking.

He is trained by Jamie Turner and lives in Wollongong .
