Ryan Nicholson

Ryan Nicholson (born 1971 - October 8, 2019 ) was a Canadian makeup artist , special effects artist , and film director and screenwriter .

Life

Nicholson had worked in the film business as a makeup artist and makeup-related special effects artist since 1993. He got his first job on the TV series The X-Files - The FBI's Scary Cases . Since then he has been involved in more than 130 different film and television productions, including films such as Mr. Magoo (1997), The 13th Warrior (1999), Riddick: Chronicles of a Warrior (2004) and series such as Stargate - Kommando SG-1 . He received a Gemini Award in 2002 for his work on Andromeda .

Since 2004, Nicholson has devoted himself increasingly to work as a director, screenwriter and producer of his own films. He concentrated on slasher films and horror film productions, which are also part of the so-called torture porn (torture porn) and the splatter film . His debut film was Torched , his first feature film followed in 2006 with Live Feed . His work as a director spans more than a dozen productions.

Nicholson was married and worked with his wife professionally.
