Sámuel Major (born January 9, 2002 in Debrecen ) is a Hungarian football player .

Career

Major started his career at Debreceni Vasutas SC . In August 2017 he moved to Austria for USK Anif . In the same month, however, he joined the FC Red Bull Salzburg academy . In September 2019 he was used for the first time for the Salzburg U-19 team in the UEFA Youth League .

In February 2020 he was against SK Austria Klagenfurt for the first time in the squad of the farm team FC Liefering . In June 2020 he finally made his debut in the 2nd division when he came on for Youba Diarra in the 61st minute against FC Wacker Innsbruck on matchday 24 of the 2019/20 season .

National team

Major played for the Hungarian U-16 team several times in 2017 . In March 2019 he played against Norway for the U-17 team for the first time . With this he took part in the European Championship in the same year , where they failed in the quarter-finals against Spain . With a win in the playoff against Belgium , the Hungarians qualified for the World Cup, which will also be held in 2019 . At the European Championship, Major was used in all five Hungarian games and scored one goal.

He was also nominated for the World Cup. However, this was not very successful and Hungary was eliminated as the last of Group B in the preliminary round. As in the European Championship, Major was used in all games in his country and scored one goal. In August 2019 he played for the U-18 team for the first time .
