Sára Mátó achieved her first international success in 2015 when she finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 61.45 s at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Tbilisi and in the 4-by-100-meter relay in the preliminary run was used. The following year she took part in the inaugural European Youth Championships the same place in the heptathlon in part, reaching there with 5268 points rank 16th in 2017 she won at the U20 European Championships in Grosseto in the hurdles in 63.73 s eighth place and in 2018 she divorced in U20 -World Championships in Tampere with 57.83 s in the semifinals and also with the Hungarian 4 x 400 meter relay with 3: 38.49 min did not reach the final. In 2019 she won the silver medal at the U20 European Championships in Borås, Sweden, with a new U23 national record of 56.89 seconds and was fourth in the relay in 3: 37.31 minutes.
In 2018 and 2019, Mátó became the Hungarian champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in 2018 in the heptathlon. In the hall she won the 4 x 400 meter relay in 2015, 2016 and 2020.
