São Paio is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
São Paio belongs to the district and the city center of Guimarães in the district of Braga . The community had an area of 0.45 km² and 2880 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013 the parishes of Guimarães (São Paio), Guimarães (São Sebastião) and Guimarães (Oliveira do Castelo) were merged to form the new parish União das Freguesias de Oliveira, São Paio e São Sebastião .
