The State Ministry for Regional Development (SMR) is a supreme state authority of the Free State of Saxony with its seat in the state capital Dresden . It was founded in 2019 with the formation of the Kretschmer II cabinet . Like the State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture , the Ministry is located in Archivstrasse 1. When it was founded, Thomas Schmidt became State Minister and Frank Pfeil became State Secretary.
