history

The Sécuridev company was founded in 1990. In the same year the companies Picard Serrures and RONIS were taken over. In addition, the French companies Métalux and Dény were incorporated. In 1991 the Italian company CR Serrature was taken over , and in 1992 the Hungarian company Euro-Elzett was taken over . Sécuridev has been traded on the French stock exchange since 1994 . In the same year, the French company Fontaine was incorporated. In 2002 the Slovenian company Titan and the French company Beugnot were taken over . In 2003 the companies Dény and Fontaine were merged. In 2004 the Polish company Metalplast was taken over and in 2005 the German company DOM Sicherheitstechnik was taken over . In 2008, Métalux took over the Beugnot business and the Broglie and Picard Serrures companies were merged. In 2015, Sécuridev was renamed DOM Security .

In 1936 Josef Voss founded a trading company at Domstrasse 12 in Cologne that sold industrial metal goods under his name, including locks. A few years after the war, the company settled in Brühl (Rhineland) and began producing lock cylinders and locks. In 1971 a patent was applied for for horizontal reversible keys . In 1976 the name was changed to DOM Sicherheitstechnik, in 1982 DOM became part of the Emhart Group. In 1989 it was integrated into Black & Decker , and DOM has been part of the French Sécuridev Group since 2005, which was renamed DOM Security in 2015 . The Federal Cartel Office put DOM's market share at between 10 and 15 percent and sales at 60 million euros. The company develops, produces and sells electronic access control systems, mechanical locking systems for the construction sector and mechanical locking systems for industrial applications. In 2010 they received a red dot design award for the DOM Guardian hardware reader .
