Sílvia Marisa Garcia Rebelo (born May 20, 1989 in Gouveia ) is a Portuguese soccer player who has been under contract with the Portuguese second division club Benfica Lisbon since 2018 .

Career

Rebelo began her athletic career in promoting talent at the Fundação Laura Santos in Moimenta da Serra , a community next to where she was born . In 2016 she moved to the newly founded women's section of Sporting Braga , for which she appeared in two seasons. On June 12, 2018, she was a thirteenth obligation for the newly established women's section of Benfica announced they as their first captain should lead. With the Brazilian goal scorer Darlene Souza as her deputy, she was able to lead the team to a national cup win and promotion to the top division in the first season.

National team

For the U19 selection of their country Rebelo played for the first time on April 9, 2007 against Ireland (0: 1). Her debut in the A-squad followed on September 27, 2008 at the Yuri Gagarin Stadium in Chernihiv against Ukraine (1-1) when she came on in the 90th minute for Emily Lima . She scored her only international goal to date on March 31, 2010 on the field of the sports complex of Tocha against Armenia (7-0). In 2017 she was part of the squad for the European Championship in the Netherlands , the only final round participation of Portuguese women in a major competition to date.
