Soeren Voigt

Sören Voigt (born August 5, 1971 in Rodewisch ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the Saxon state parliament since 2014 .

biography

After graduating from the Polytechnic High School in Falkenstein / Vogtland in 1988, Voigt completed an apprenticeship as a printer. In the Turning Point in 1990, he joined the Saxon local government of Falkenstein / Vogtland, initially trained as administrative officer and became a business promoter and spokesman of the small town. From 1994 to 1997 he studied economics at the civil service college in Hof (Saale) , from which he graduated as a business economist (VWA).

Sören Voigt is married and has three children.

politics

Voigt joined the CDU in 1989 before German reunification and was one of the founders of the Junge Union in Vogtland. From 2004 to 2008 he was initially deputy chairman of the CDU district association Vogtland and has been chairman there since 2008.

In the local elections in Saxony in 1999, Voigt moved into the district council of the Vogtlandkreis for the first time and is currently district councilor and deputy chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group there after the local elections in Saxony in 2014 and after the local elections in Saxony in 2019 . In the state elections in Saxony in 2014 he was able to win a direct mandate for the Saxon state parliament in the Vogtland 3 constituency with 45.3% of the first votes and was a member of the interior committee and the constitutional and legal committee in the 6th electoral term. In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , he won the direct mandate for the Saxon state parliament for the second time in the Vogtland 3 constituency with 43.1% of the first votes. Voigt has been Deputy Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group since September 2019.

In the 7th electoral term, Sören Voigt is a member of the Interior Committee and the Committee on Economy, Labor and Transport.

Volunteering

In addition to chairing the CDU Vogtland district association, Sören Voigt is on the ERFAL Foundation's advisory board and an honorary district councilor in the Vogtland district. Voigt has been a member of the board of trustees of Netzwerk Südwestsachsen Digital eV since 2019
