The Sønstebynuten ( Norwegian ) is an 819 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises at the eastern end of the Lingetoppane in Fimbulheimen .
Scientists from the Norwegian Polar Institute named it in 1969. It is named after Gunnar Sønsteby (1918–2012), a leader of the resistance movement against the German occupation of Norway in World War II .
