The valley basin Tachovská brázda (German: Tachauer Furche) in the Czech Republic lies between the Upper Palatinate Forest or Český les (German: Bohemian Forest) and the Slavkovský les (German: Kaiserwald) together with Tepelská vrchovina (German: Tepler Hochland).

geography

The central city is Planà (German Plan), 10 km south of Mariánské Lázně (German: Marienbad). However, this natural area is named after the town of Tachov (German: Tachau) on the western edge .

topography

The striking eastern boundary with the rise to the Kaiserwald forms the Mariánskolázeňský zlom (German: Marienbader Bruchzone) or fault, which extends in the north to the Chebská pánev (German: Egerer Becken) and is the origin of many swarmquakes .

The Český les is geologically structured like the Upper Palatinate Forest, while crystalline slate predominates to the east of the furrow .
