The southern connection low is a low in the municipality of Wangerland in the district of Friesland in the north of Lower Saxony .

The approximately 3 km long and 14 m wide watercourse in the Jeverland , through which inland water flows into the North Sea , begins at the Hooksieler Tief southwest of Hooksiel . The southern connection low then flows in a northerly direction past Hooksiel. It flows northwest of Hooksiel in Schmidtshörn into the Crildumer Tief . This flows further in a northerly direction and flows 1 km east of St. Joost from the south into the Hohenstief .

In earlier times the low was mainly used for drainage and as a traffic route, today it is also used for recreational sports such as paddling and fishing .
