history

After wood theft and poaching had repeatedly occurred in the Äußere Sülz forest near Möckmühl , an area of 300 acres was cleared there at the instigation of the chief forester Schnieke from 1851 and an estate owned by the city with 96 hectares of arable land was created. In the first year the fields were cultivated by the small farmers and day laborers who had cleared the land . After the construction of courtyard buildings and the drilling of a well in 1854, the courtyard was leased by the city. The Mennonite Samuel Schmutz was named as the first tenant in 1855 . In 1873 there were 6 horses, 34 cattle, 9 pigs and 285 sheep on the farm. The farm remained in the possession of the city of Möckmühl until 1970, before the city of Möckmühl sold the property for 1.25 million DM to Heinrich Ehmann from Neuhausen auf den Fildern , who had the farm run by tenants.
