The SATA Holding GmbH has its headquarters in Baden-Württemberg Kornwestheim ( district of Ludwigsburg ). The business areas of the medium-sized company extend over the areas of spray guns (paint spray guns , airbrush guns, automatic & robot guns), compressed air filter and respiratory protection systems , material supply systems (e.g. pumps and boilers) as well as accessories. SATA supplies customers in over 90 countries. The export share is over 70%. It is produced exclusively in Germany. SATA is represented worldwide in the USA , Canada , Great Britain and China .
Company and product history of SATA Holding
The company was founded in 1907 as Sanitaria GmbH . This manufactured surgical devices such as syringes , scalpels and lever locks for cold sprays . Sata is registered as a trademark as early as 1914 .
In 1925 the company began producing spray guns . These were developed in cooperation with the paint factory Christian Lechler from Stuttgart-Feuerbach (today Lesonal, part of the Akzo Nobel Coatings Group) and manufactured under license (private label) for Lechler. After the first patent applications in the area of spray guns, Sanitaria began marketing its own spray gun series in 1931 . After Sanitaria had operated as an AG for years , it was converted into a GmbH in 1964 . In 1981 it changed its name to SATA Farb Spritztechnik GmbH. In 1987 the company name was changed to SATA Farb Spritztechnik GmbH & Co, in 2002 to SATA Farb Spritztechnik GmbH & Co. KG and in 2006 to SATA GmbH & Co. KG. In 1981, the SATAjet B spray gun, which is still known to this day in specialist circles, was launched on the market. SATA became the market leader for high-quality paint spray guns.
In 1990 the company developed the first HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) gun. From 1988 SATA pistols were sought-after victims of product pirates because of their globally recognized high quality. The company Mersin, Turkey received the Plagiarius 1999 for a SATA pistol plagiarism . In 2000 RP technology (Reduced Pressure) was introduced. In 2001, explosion-proof digital pressure gauges were installed in the spray guns for the first time . 2003 Due to SATA plagiarism still appearing, SATA patented a product label with which the originality of the products can be reliably checked over the Internet. In 2006 the company received the Automechanika Innovation Award for the SATA RPS cup system. In 2010 the latest generation of pistols SATAjet 4000 was introduced, which was replaced by the SATAjet 5000 in 2014.
