The SC Böckingen is a football club from the Heilbronn district of Böckingen . The first team took part in the ATSB championship four times under the name SK Böckingen .

history

In 1913, a soccer department was founded in the Free Gymnastics Federation Böckingen , which participated in the ATSB's game operations and was referred to by the press as SK Böckingen. In 1920 the team rose to the top division and in 1926 became champions of Württemberg for the first time. In the subsequent games for the southern German championship, the team was eliminated against FT Frankfurt-Westend after a 1: 4 defeat. Two years later , the Böckinger reached the final of the southern German championship, which ended with a 2: 3 defeat after extra time against FT Frankfurt-Westend. In 1929 the semifinals of the German ATSB championship were again within reach, but Böckingen lost the playoff for the southern German championship against FTSV Weiden in the Neckar Stadium in Stuttgart with 0: 1. In the fourth attempt in 1930 , the Böckinger failed when they lost 2-1 in the last group game for the South German championship against Vorwärts Neu-Isenburg.

When the National Socialists came to power in 1933, the association was banned and dissolved. On January 12, 1946, the Böckingen sports and cultural community was founded as its successor . The football department traded under the name SC Böckingen , which now took part in the game operations of the German Football Association . In 1956 the Böckinger rose to the 2nd amateur league Württemberg and reached fourth place in the promotion season 1956/57. Five years later, the team was relegated and since then, apart from the district league season 1996/97, has only played at the district level.
