The SC Elmenhorst is a sports club from Elmenhorst in the Stormarn district . The first soccer team played for two years in the highest amateur league in Schleswig-Holstein .
history
The association was founded on July 23, 1948. After the footballers initially only played at the local level, two consecutive promotions brought the Elmenhorster into the then fourth-class Association League South . Three years later the team became champions there and rose to the national league . In the media, the SC Elmenhorst was celebrated as the " Alsenborn of the North". In Oberhaus in Schleswig-Holstein, the team started well and was able to beat the eventual champions Rendsburger TSV , among others . In the second half of the season, the team fell to third from bottom and only stayed in the league because Itzehoer SV managed to stay in the regional division north .
Before the 1972/73 season, numerous top performers left the club and the Elmenhorster were bottom of the table with five points. There was a 10:10 defeat against Rendsburger SV. Two years later, he was relegated to the district league, where the SCE was promptly passed through to the district league. From then on, SC Elmenhorst played in the lower leagues. In 2011 he was promoted to the Stormarn District League and five years later to the South East Association League.
