The SEHA League is a supranational handball competition that is entering its sixth season in the 2016/17 season. The organizer is the South Eastern Handball Association. The ten teams still participating in the sixth season came from Bosnia and Herzegovina , Croatia , North Macedonia , Slovakia , Slovenia , Hungary and Belarus . This year again, Serbia has not reported its two representatives to the league. For this reason two teams from Slovenia were nominated. Champion in the sixth season was RK Vardar Skopje from North Macedonia.

mode
The ten participants compete against each other twice in the main round in a league. Once in the home hall and once outside. The four best teams will qualify after the round for the play-offs, which were held in Brest , Belarus for the sixth year . The point allocation in the league is unusual for handball. The handball association of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which is in charge of the SEHA, has adopted the so-called "English table" system, which is also used in the domestic league, in which there are three points for a win and one for a draw.
