The Sportgemeinschaft Nickelhütte Aue (SGN) is a sports club that is sponsored by the Nickelhütte Aue company . It was founded in 1963 and in the 21st century maintains the departments handball , taekwondo , kickboxing , soccer , bowling and - the only winter sport - ski jumping . His most famous and so far most successful representative is the Olympic ski jumper Richard Freitag .

history

The Nickelhütte Aue company , created through multiple restructuring and merging of companies after the Second World War , was re-established in 1951 as a state-owned company (VEB).

In addition to the intensive development of the company and its products, the management got involved early on in the social field (childcare facilities) and in the sporting field. In 1963, the company sports community (BSG) Nickelhütte Aue was established with the sections football , handball, volleyball , table tennis and bowling.

When VEB Nickelhütte Aue was privatized after German reunification and the corresponding economic consequences , the sports community was basically retained, but was re-established pro forma. She took over most of the previous sports sponsorship; Taekwondo, kickboxing and ski jumping were added as new sports. Regardless of the promotion of talent for winter sports enthusiasts , the SG Nickelhütte also organizes competitions itself in coordination with the German Ski Association, for example the DSV Youth Cup / Germany Cup, ski jumping 2015/16 in Oberwiesenthal .
