Martin Hamann (born April 10, 1997 ) is a German ski jumper . He starts for SG Nickelhütte Aue .

Career

Martin Hamann comes from Altenbach near Wurzen . He began his ski jumping career in 2004 with the ski department of SV Lok Eilenburg on the Josef Dotzauer ski jump there . His first international start took place within the framework of two competitions of the Alpine Cup on September 28 and 29, 2012 in Oberstdorf , in which he finished 59th and 51st. In the following December Hamann started with his participation in two competitions in Winterberg for the first time in the FIS-Cup , here he finished 44th and 35th. Over the next few years further participations followed regularly.

Hamann made his debut with a 22nd place in the competition in Kuopio on August 17, 2014 in the Continental Cup . In the Four Hills Tournament 2014/15 he was part of the national group of Germany, but failed to qualify in both Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After further regular participation in the Continental Cup in the following years, Hamann achieved a podium place in the Continental Cup for the first time on March 13, 2016 in Tchaikovsky with a third place . At the end of the 2015/16 season , he finished 20th with 347 points.

At the German Championships in Oberhof in 2016 , he won the silver medal in the team competition together with Julian Hahn , Johannes Schubert and Richard Freitag .

At the Junior World Championships 2017 in Park City , Utah , Hamann won the silver medal behind Slovenia and ahead of Austria in the team competition on the normal hill together with Felix Hoffmann , Tim Fuchs and Constantin Schmid .

In addition to his ski jumping career, Hamann is currently training to become a police master.
