The 63rd Four Hills Tournament 2014/15 was a series of ski jumping competitions held by the FIS between December 27, 2014 and January 6, 2015 as part of the Ski Jumping World Cup 2014/15 . The defending champion was the Austrian Thomas Diethart . As every year, the competition venues were the ski jumps in Oberstdorf , Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Innsbruck and Bischofshofen . As for all World Cup competitions, there were also World Cup points for the jumpers for the four stages of the tour. The overall ranking was won by Stefan Kraft , which is the seventh time in a rowWolfgang Loitzl (2008/09), Andreas Kofler (2009/10), Thomas Morgenstern (2010/11), Gregor Schlierenzauer (2011/12 and 2012/13) and also Thomas Diethart (2013/14) an Austrian ski jumper . Overall it was the 16th tour victory for Austria.
Apron
Before the Four Hills Tournament, nine individual competitions were completed in the World Cup. The season began at the end of November 2014 in Klingenthal, Germany .

Nominee athletes
The number of athletes a nation is allowed to start depends on the results achieved in the World Cup. Germany and Austria, as the host nations, may also send a national group with six other jumpers to the start in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany) and Innsbruck and Bischofshofen (Austria).

The qualification for the opening competition of the 63rd Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf took place on December 27, 2014. The competition planned for December 28, 2014 had to be canceled after eleven jumpers in the first round after numerous postponements and interruptions due to snowfall and strong wind and was held on the following day.

The qualification for the second competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the so-called New Year’s competition , took place on December 31, 2014. The competition took place on January 1st, 2015.

The qualification for the third competition in Innsbruck took place on January 3rd, 2015. The competition took place on January 4th, 2015. In this, the hill record set by Sven Hannawald , which was 134.5 m, was exceeded twice. In the first round, the Austrian Stefan Kraft reached a distance of 137.0 m, before Michael Hayböck (also Austria) jumped one meter further to 138.0 m in the second round, but reached into the snow with his left hand.

Bischofshofen
Austria Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze (HS140)
The qualification for the final, fourth competition in Bischofshofen, traditionally also called Dreikönigsspringen , took place on January 5th, 2015. This and the previous training was overshadowed by the fall of several jumpers. The US American Nicholas Fairall had the worst fall, sustaining a spinal injury and having to undergo emergency surgery that same evening. The competition took place on January 6, 2015.
1 In the second round of the competition, the Swiss Simon Ammann could not safely stand a jump to 136.0 m and then fell heavily. The following day, it was revealed that he had suffered a severe concussion and severe bruises on his face.
