Siim-Tanel Sammelselg (born May 18, 1993 in Tallinn ) is a former Estonian ski jumper who was also active in Nordic combined in his youth .

Career

Sammelselg's first appearance on the international ski jumping stage was also his debut in the ski jumping world cup . In November 2007 he took part in a team competition of the World Cup in Kuusamo together with the Estonian team, in which the Estonian team came in 13th. Sammelselg has been competing in the FIS Cup since 2007 . In January 2010, Sammelselg made his debut in the Continental Cup at its station in Bischofshofen ; He finished this jumping in 56th place.

In the years 2010 to 2013 Sammelselg took part in the ski jumping youth world championships, in which he never achieved a better result than the 44th place in January 2013 in Liberec .

On March 11, 2011, Sammelselg again received a starting place in Lahti in the qualification for a jumping in the ski jumping world cup . After he missed the individual qualification, however, he only started in the team competition and finished ninth with the team. For the 2011/12 season he also got a nomination for the World Cup, but remained in the B-squad after missing qualification. He was only appointed to the A-team for the team competitions.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 , he missed both competitions when he finished 51st and 49th. For the 2014/15 season he started again in the World Cup squad. In Ruka he reached the qualification for the individual World Cup, but failed as 47th in the first round. In Lillehammer he failed again in the qualification.

At the end of July 2015 it became known that Sammelselg had tested positive for marijuana in a drug test , whereupon the Eesti Olümpiakomitee withdrew his support. He competed in his last competition in March 2015.

Today Sammelselg lives in his hometown Tallinn.
