reception

In his review on IndieWire , Eric Kohn commented : “In its labyrinthine characteristics [of the film] there is a godless synthesis of Ingmar Bergman and David Lynch . Never on the level of sophistication of these variables, Decker developed an all-encompassing vision of isolation, says with a grim poetic style. " David Rooney of the Hollywood Reporter the film gave a mixed assessment and ruled:" It is interesting, artistic but wanted to classify Decker as an accomplished filmmaker. ”At the same time, he compared the film to the work of Terrence Malick . The film-dienst saw a "sometimes almost experimental film" that impresses as an "unconventional drama of desire", "in which the boundaries between love and violence, lyricism and horror, the beautiful and the dirty are fluid". In doing so, "the narrative is placed under a hypersensualistic, erotic-sexually charged constant tension through a sophisticated imagery".
