Career

Well-named, who starts for the SK Kehlegg-Vorarlberg and trains at the Nordic Training Center Eisenerz, made his international debut in junior jumping in 2008 and 2009. In December 2009, the Austrian competed in the Alpine Cup for the first time in Seefeld . Only a few weeks later he made his debut in the FIS Cup in Lauscha . In March 2010, he jumped on the podium in both individual and team competitions in Eisenerz . In September and October 2010 he was among the top ten in four competitions of the Alpine Cup in Kranj and Oberstdorf .

On January 29, 2011, Wohlgenannt jumped in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup for the first time in Bischofshofen and, as the 23rd, collected his first Continental Cup points straight away. At the European Youth Olympic Festival 2011 in Liberec he won the individual silver medal on the normal hill. With the team he missed another medal in team jumping and ended up in fourth place. In September, Wohlgenannt was again used in the Continental Cup in Klingenthal , but this time missed the points in both competitions. He then remained in the C-team and jumped in the Alpine and FIS Cup. He achieved his first Alpine Cup podium with second place on the W90 mat jumping facility in Ramsau am Dachstein . In the FIS Cup, he also jumped twice on the podium in January 2012 in Predazzo .

In the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2012 in Turkey's Erzurum Wohlgenannt jumped in single in 18th place before the team event together with Christoph Stauder , Stefan Kraft and Lukas Mueller won the bronze medal. A few days later he achieved two second places in the Alpine Cup show jumping in Chaux-Neuve . He then traveled to Kuopio with the B-squad for the end of the season and jumped into the points twice. In the summer, he celebrated another podium finish in the Einsiedeln Alpine Cup . On November 29, 2011, Wohlgenannt had a serious fall during a training jump and suffered a fracture of the seventh thoracic vertebra. He then had to take a break for several weeks. It was not until March 2013 that he returned to the B squad and started in Liberec as part of the Continental Cup. In both competitions he failed in round one. He had previously won the bronze medal at the Austrian Junior Championships in Raumsau am Dachstein. In August he celebrated his first FIS Cup victory on the Puijo hill in Kuopio. After winning points in the Continental Cup in the same place on the following two days, he started in Courchevel for the first time as part of the Ski Jumping Grand Prix . After finishing ninth in the team competition, he finished 44th in the individual. After he also qualified in Einsiedeln and only just failed the second round, he got a permanent place in the Austrian B-squad in September.

After Wohlgenannt could not jump into the points in the first Continental Cup competitions of the 2013/14 winter , he went back to the Alpine Cup. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , he only finished 24th in the individual, but was able to win the silver medal in the team competition with his teammates. In September 2014 Wohlgenannt moved back to the B-team and ended up just behind the points in Stams and Trondheim . On December 27, 2014, he surprised the competition with 11th place in Engelberg . As part of the Four Hills Tournament 2014/15 , Wohlgenannt took part in the qualifying competitions in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, but missed the jump into the competition. In Sapporo he jumped in the Continental Cup for the first time as sixth among the top ten. After two more top 20 placements, he took part in the qualification for the ski jumping World Cup in the same place a few days later . With places 33 and 39, he just missed the points. Back in Europe, Wohlgenannt celebrated his first two podium places in the Continental Cup in Zakopane . After he was also convincing in Brotterode as 15th, he traveled with the A-team to ski flying in Vikersund . There he won his first World Cup points with 22nd place. Also in the second flight competition he finished 29th in the points. At the Continental Cup in Iron Mountain , he celebrated another podium a little later. He finished the 2014/15 season with a total of three top 30 placements and 14 points in 67th place.
