Mikhail Mikhailovich Maximotschkin ( Russian Михаил Михайлович Максимочкин ; born August 29, 1993 in Nizhny Novgorod ) is a Russian ski jumper .

Career

Maximotschkin made his international debut on October 8, 2010 at an FIS Cup in Einsiedeln , where he finished ninth. The following day he reached his first podium with third place. After further appearances in the FIS Cup, Maximotschkin started at the Junior World Championships 2012 in Erzurum . After the 41st place in the individual, he finished eighth with the team in the team competition.

In the summer of 2012 he took part in jumping as part of the Continental Cup for the first time. While Maximotschkin could not score there, he won an FIS Cup in Einsiedeln in October. In December he could not qualify for World Cup jumping in Sochi . Then Maximotschkin competed at the Junior World Championships 2013 in Liberec . He was ranked 28th in the individual and seventh in the team competition.

After scoring points in the Continental Cup, he also took part in the Grand Prix jumping in summer 2013 and achieved his best individual placement in this competition class with tenth place in Hakuba .

At the Universiade 2013 he won bronze in the individual competition on the normal hill and fifth on the large hill. In the mixed team he won gold with Irina Avakumova and silver with the team.

After Maximotschkin finished the qualifying competition for the World Cup in Zakopane as second best, he achieved his best result so far with fifth place in the Wielka Krokiew competition and collected World Cup points for the first time.

At the Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty Maximotschkin won the silver medal in the individual competition behind Naoki Nakamura and in front of Thomas Lackner . In the team competition he won the gold medal together with Roman Trofimow and Alexander Baschenow .
