Florian Altenburger (born November 2, 1993 ) is a former Austrian ski jumper .

Career

Altenburger made his international debut at the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2008 in Bois-d'Amont . A year later he started for the first time in the FIS Cup in Eisenerz and in the summer of 2009 for the first time in the Alpencup in Einsiedeln . This summer he also scored points for the first time in both competitions. He achieved his first top ten placement in the Alpine Cup with 8th place on October 3, 2010 in Oberstdorf . On July 9, 2011, he made his debut in the Continental Cup in Stams and finished in 63rd place.

Altenburger started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec . He reached 31st place in the individual and 4th place with the Austrian team. On February 3, 2013, he landed on the podium in the Alpencup for the first time in Kranj when he finished second. For the Four Hills Tournament 2013/14 started in the national group in the qualification. With a disqualification and a 67th place, however, he did not reach the competition. In summer 2014 he competed in the qualification for the Grand Prix in Hinzenbach . With 41st place he could not qualify again. He also failed twice in the qualification at the Four Hills Tournament 2014/15 . In the summer of 2015 he successfully took part in the FIS Cup and Continental Cup competitions in Kuopio , which took place from 20-23 August took place. In the FIS Cup he was first and second. In the subsequent Continental Cup competitions, he was first and third again twice on the podium. With these results he achieved his first victory in the FIS Cup as well as his first podium placements and his first victory in the Continental Cup. On September 27, 2015, he made his debut in the Grand Prix in Hinzenbach, after having passed the qualification. But with 41st place he didn't score any points.

At the Four Hills Tournament 2015/16 he started again in the national group in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen . He reached the first round twice. He made his debut in the World Cup in Innsbruck on January 3, 2016 and finished in 45th place. In Bischofshofen he landed on rank 37. He finished the Four Hills Tournament in 58th place, but did not get any World Cup points. At other starts in the Continental Cup in the 2015/16 season, he won a competition in Willingen and in Iron Mountain . He finished the overall ranking of the Continental Cup (summer and winter) in third place overall.

In the summer of 2016, he competed in both the Continental Cup and the Grand Prix . He managed to get Grand Prix points for the first time in Tchaikovsky on September 10th and 11th when he jumped to places 23 and 19. At the Four Hills Tournament 2016/17 he took part in all four touring competitions for the first time. He got his first World Cup points in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with 27th place.

In August 2019 Altenburger announced the end of his career.
