The operating systems included Windows CE version 2.12 (CL4), 3.0 (all models) or 4.0 (only SL4 and SLC, also known as CE.net ). Updates to Windows CE 4.1 and 4.2 are available on the Internet or are commercially available.
Since all SIMpads are discontinued models, manufacturer support is no longer available and no more updates will appear. However, devices and accessories are still readily available in the second-hand market and there is a lot of additional information on the web. In addition, the Familiar project offers Linux porting based on OpenEmbedded for all SIMpad models.
